I enjoy both kinds, but do more traditional tales. And as you say, we DO bring our personal lives into the traditional tales we tell. There is something in That Tale we are sharing, that resonated with us deep inside, and we put, I believe, our experience into the story like a hidden 'Easter egg'!
When was the video filmed? Love it. You're so good, Laura. I love the pace and the way you draw it to a close.

Here is a blog I wrote on the same subject last year!
http://worldofstories.blogspot.com/2015/08/personal-stories-why-there-is-place-for.html
In case you want to read it!! The audience has come to know that it's ALL story. When a teller, whether telling a personal or traditional or literary tale does the work of "crafting", it's all good. Much of what I've heard touted as "personal storytelling" is not crafted; likewise I've heard some really awful tellings of traditional tales!! I guess I don't care what type of tale is being told, as long as the teller has done their homework!Ms. Piazzihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02578491825205228686noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5980661477245033955.post-19111512929631182732016-04-19T09:36:11.060-04:002016-04-19T09:36:11.060-04:00You have expressed what I believe beautifully and ...You have expressed what I believe beautifully and with enough elaboration to make the point clear!
